Several lung nodules of varying size. The dominant lesion lies adjacent to pleura and pericardium in the superior lingular segment of the LUL and has a microlobulated margin.
Case Discussion
Left lung core biopsy pathology:
Tumour with visible pigment.
Immunohistochemistry: Tumour cells CK (-), HMB45 (+), MelanA (+), S-100 (+), SOX-10 (+), Ki-67 (+, 25%) .
Combined with morphology and immunophenotype, it is consistent with metastatic melanoma.
Melanoma is typically highly malignant and commonly metastasises to lung and liver.
