Mediastinal bronchogenic cyst

Presentation

Dyspnoea and dysphagia.

Patient Data

Age: 45 years
Gender: Female

A sizeable oval-shaped subcarinal cystic lesion is noted with homogeneous fluid density content and a thin wall. It widens the subcarinal angle, indenting the posterior aspect of the heart compressing the left atrium and compressing the oesophagus. No septations, calcifications, or solid component is seen in it.

Case Discussion

The mediastinum, especially in subcarinal position is a classic location of a bronchogenic cyst.
