Complete transverse midshaft clavicular fracture with superior displacement of the proximal end and inferior displacement of the distal end.
Case Discussion
Complete clavicular fractures typically result in superior displacement of the proximal fragment and inferior displacement of the distal fragment. The pull of the sternocleidomastoid muscle, which originates from the medial portion of the clavicle, elevates the proximal fragment while the weight of the arm depresses the distal fragment.
