Presentation

Contusion left middle finger 3 weeks back. Clinical examination: tenderness was noted in the proximal interphalangeal joint of the left middle finger

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Male

Displaced fracture of the middle phalanx base of the third left digit

Dorsal dislocation of the PIP joint is noted

Soft tissue swelling could be seen.

Case Discussion

This kind of fracture mostly ends with post-traumatic osteoarthritis of the proximal interphalangeal joint.
