Presentation

Went to kick foot ball but impact to goal post instead 7/7. Bony tenderness to medial malleolus

Patient Data

Age: 15 years
Gender: Male
x-ray

There is an osteochondral defect in the medial aspect of the talar dome. Normal ankle joint alignment.

Case Discussion

This case illustrates the most common location of an osteochondral injury, in the medial talar dome. This is an important injury to pick up and treat to avoid progression to early osteoarthritis. Referral to Orthopedics is recommended.
