Presentation

Abdominal pain.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Female

A definable, loculated, mass lesion having, fat and soft density components and tooth-like internal calcifications. The fat-fluid level is seen in one locule. The mass lesion is located anterior to the uterus. Minimal pelvic ascites are seen.

The rest of the abdominal viscera are unremarkable.

Intra-operative photos show a resected mass lesion from the left ovary.

Case Discussion

CT features and clinical presentation are suggestive of an ovarian dermoid cyst complicated with ovarian torsion as a leading point which is surgically proven to be arising from the left ovary.
