Case contributed by Dr Ian Bickle

Acute on chronic left hip pain. OA?

Patient Data

Age: 70 years
Gender: Male

Coarse trabeculation of the right iliac blade, ischium and superior pubic ramus.  The right inferior pubic ramus and hip are spared.

Normal left hemipelvis.

Mild bilateral hip osteoarthritis.

Case Discussion

Paget disease commonly affects the pelvis and is an incidental finding in older patients.

It is typically a unilateral process, as in this case, with coarse trabeculation and thickening of the ileopectineal line.
