Paget disease- pelvis

Presentation

The patient fell and injured her left hip. There is a known, chronic, metabolic disorder.

Patient Data

Age: 90 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

There is asymmetric cortical thickening and sclerosis of the ileopectineal and ischiopubic lines.

There is a mild acetabular protrusion.

There is an enlargement of the pubic rami and ischium.

The above features are bilateral, however, the left appears worse than the right.

There are no post-traumatic bony abnormalities.

Case Discussion

Features consistent with the known Paget disease with the pelvic brim sign secondary to ileopectineal line thickening.

There are no identified fractures, however, a CT scan was recommended for a definitive and more sensitive assessment.
