Presentation

Nasal obstruction and headache.

Patient Data

Age: 20 years
Gender: Female

Paradoxical right middle turbinate and concha are convex in the opposite direction compared to the left middle turbinate. Nasal cavity is clear. Midline nasal septum.

Slight polypoidal mucosal thickening of the right maxillary and left frontal sinuses most in keeping with mucous retention cysts.

Case Discussion

Paradoxical middle turbinates are a possible cause of ostiomeatal complex obstruction, which can result in chronic sinusitis and nasal obstruction but is reported here as an incidental finding.
