Significant oedema / inflammation between patellar tendon and lateral femoral condyle in superolateral aspects of Hoffa’s fat pad.
Subtle oedema is seen in inferior aspects of articular cartilage along lateral facet of patella.
Patella appears to be mildly high riding (mild patella alta).
Mild joint effusion is seen, extending to suprapatellar recess.
Case Discussion
Findings are suggestive of patellar tendon – lateral femoral condyle friction syndrome / Hoffa’s fat
pad impingement. This is the likely cause of patient's symptoms.
