Perilunate volar dislocation

Fall whilst intoxicated, unable to recall position of wrist at time of injury.

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Significant overlap of the capitate over the proximal carpal row on the frontal projection. On the lateral projection there is perilunate dislocation with the capitate dislocated anterior (volar) to the lunate, which is highly atypical. No fracture identified.

Case Discussion

The patient required reduction under anesthesia.
