The MRI sequences demonstrate:
irregular margins of the bodies and trigones of the lateral ventricles with ventriculomegaly
loss of periventricular white matter with increased FLAIR and T2 signal (gliosis)
thinning of the corpus callosum mainly at the isthmus
Case Discussion
The clinical history and the MR findings are most consistent with end-stage periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).
