The MRI sequences demonstrate:
ventriculomegaly with irregular margins of the bodies and trigones of the lateral ventricles
loss of periventricular white matter with increased FLAIR and T2 signal
thinning of the corpus callosum
Case Discussion
The clinical presentation and the MR findings are most consistent with end-stage periventricular leukomalacia (PVL).
