Presentation
Left ankle lateral side pain.
Patient Data
There is dislocation of the peroneus brevis and peroneus longus tendons from the fibular groove. Both tendons show a normal echopattern without tenosynovitis. There is a stripping of the superior peroneal retinaculum with a possible tear. There is no bony avulsion.
Case Discussion
A male presented with lateral ankle pain. The ankle radiograph revealed no bony injury (not uploaded, no copyright). The clinical diagnosis was peroneal tendon dislocation. The ultrasound shows dislocation of both peroneal tendons with superior peroneal retinaculum injury. There were no associated lateral ankle ligaments injuries.
