Complete opacification of the right hemithorax with associated volume loss. The trachea is pulled to the right.
Clips at the right hilum.
Compensatory hyperinflation of the left lung with a degree of herniation into the right thoracic cavity.
Case Discussion
Typical appearances of a pneumonectomy.
In this case both the volume loss and surgical clips indicate this as the cause for the complete white out.
