Pontomesencephalic angle

Normal pontomesencephalic angle (55-75˚ is within normal limits). The angle is measured between two lines drawn:

  • anterior aspect of the midbrain
  • anterosuperior aspect of the pons

Case Discussion

A pontomesencephalic <50˚ is suggestive of intracranial hypotension (other features should be present).
