Presentation
Subcutaneous nodule along the margin of the caesarean section scar for 6 months associated with increase in size and pain during the menstruation. Past history of caesarean section.
Patient Data
A heterogeneous, predominantly hypoechoic solid nodule having relatively irregular borders, measuring 1.4 x 2.1 cm, is seen in the subcutaneous soft tissues of left lower anterior abdominal wall, under the lateral margin of the previous caesarean section scar. No cystic changes, calcifications or vascularity is seen in it.
In view of history of previous caesarean section, clinical and imaging features are suggestive of scar endometriosis.
Case Discussion
After the ultrasound examination, the patient underwent ultrasound-guided tru-cut biopsy, followed by the complete excision of the scar nodule and diagnosis of the endometriosis was confirmed histopathologically.
