Subchorionic haemorrhage

Presentation

Pervaginal bleeding for one week

Patient Data

Age: 30 years
Gender: Female

Antenatal scan - 14 week

ultrasound

Crescentic collection with heterogeneous texture is noted elevating the chorionic membrane, reflecting anterior subacute subchorionic haematoma. No retroplacental extension noted.

The placental is posterior, with intact chorionic plate.

After 2 weeks follow up

ultrasound

Decreased size of the anterior subchorionic haematoma, currently of 5 mm thickness compared to 13 mm at the previous study.

Case Discussion

A single living fetus of about 13 weeks gestation, with associated subchorionic haemorrhage, that doesn't extend to placental bed. Then, the patient complained recurrent dark vaginal bleeding and follow up shows decreased size of the anterior subchorionic haematoma.
