Presentation

Seizures.

Patient Data

Age: 2 years
Gender: Female

Bilateral band of nodules along the lateral ventricular margins mainly on the left, bulging into the ventricular lumen, eliciting a similar signal intensity to the grey matter on all sequences.

The remainder of the brain appears normal, with normal adjacent white matter and deep grey matter nuclei.

Subependymal grey matter heterotopia is the most common form of grey matter heterotopia, characterized by nodules of grey matter located along the ventricular margins of the lateral ventricles. It can be unilateral focal, bilateral focal, or bilateral diffuse.
