Presentation

History of trauma.

Patient Data

Age: 3.7 years
Gender: Female
x-ray

Minimally displaced supracondylar fracture.

No elbow joint dislocation.

Small volume joint effusion.

Moderate periarticular soft tissue thickening seen. 

Please note that lateral view of elbow could not be performed.

x-ray

Internal fixation using two Kirschner wires laterally. The wires are unburied.

Satisfactory alignment and anatomic reduction.

Limb in plaster of paris.

No complicating features.

Four weeks later

x-ray

Follow up study reveals mild callous formation with satisfactory alignment. 

The unburied  Kirschner wires shows no complicating features.
