Moderate degree of volume loss of the left temporal lobe very much excessive for the patient's age.
The left temporal horn is dilated measuring 8 mm vis-à-vis 2 mm for the normal contralateral side.
Marked volume loss of the left hippocampus.
The remainder of the brain is normal in appearance.
Case Discussion
Left temporal lobe atrophy including extensive sclerosis of the hippocampus consistent with a structural cause for epilepsy.
