A large round circular artefact projects over the midline pelvis, inferring vaginal ring pessary.
Mild degenerative changes are seen in both hip joints and the visualized lumbar spine.
Case Discussion
A pessary is a device inserted into the vagina that is most commonly used to treat uterine prolapse, stress urinary incontinence, a retroverted uterus, cystocele and rectocele.
Understanding the radiological appearance of these devices is helpful to avoid misinterpreting them and be aware when they are malpositioned.
