Patient with cone-shaped wooden fragment into the proximal phalanx of the first finger of the left hand, penetrated from the dorsal side, passing through the soft tissues and reaching the volar side without breaching the skin.

Wooden foreign body is easily seen in the same orientation as one the radiograph.
Case Discussion
Wood density (0.3-0.9 g/cm³) is lower than soft tissues density (1.0-1.1 g/cm³), thus a wooden foreign body can be sometimes seen as radiolucent compared to surrounding soft tissues.
