Presentation
Hit in the neck at football. Now hoarse voice, laryngeal tenderness and hemoptysis
Patient Data
Swelling of the left vocal cord and false cord with obliteration of the laryngeal ventricle (vestibule) extending into the supraglottis at the base of the left piriform sinus. Thyroid cartilage is poorly ossified but apparently intact as is the hyoid and there is no arytenoid cartilage subluxation or free gas to indicate full thickness disruption to the larynx.
