Altered signal intensity of superior endplate of L3 vertebral body, hypointense T1WI and hyperintense in T2WI and in STIR sequences, with central protrusion of cartilage of L2-3 intervertebral disc through L3 vertebral body superior endplate.

Surrounded by hyperintensity bone marrow edematous changes.

Case Discussion

Edematous changes of endplate, with focal central protrusion and interruption of cartilage of intervertebral disc, suggestive intervertebral disc herniation, surrounded by inflammatory changes, denoting acute changes.
