Case contributed by Senai Goitom Sereke
Diagnosis probable

Presentation

Jaundice and right upper quadrant pain for more than a year.

Patient Data

Age: 35 years
Gender: Female

Type I choledochal cyst with a big calculus in the dependent region. There are scattered peribiliary hyperenhancements and proportional diffusion restrictions probably due to ascending cholangitis or recurrent cholangitis. Gallbladder is normal.

Lobulated mass in segment VI of the liver that demonstrated progressive peripheral fill-in in the post-contrast images, most likely hemangioma.

Case Discussion

Choledochal cyst can be complicated early on by formation of calculus, pancreatitis and cholangitis from bile stasis and infection as is probably the cause in this case with peribiliary hyperenhancements. The long term complication of this entity is mainly cholangiocarcinoma.
