Case Discussion

MRI features of a mixed solid-cystic ovarian mass.

The patient went on to have a surgical resection of the tumor and ovary. The histological report was compatible with an ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenoma.

Ovarian borderline mucinous cystadenomas are non-invasive tumors of low malignant potential between mucinous cystadenomas and mucinous cystadenocarcinomas. They account for ~ 10-15% of all ovarian mucinous tumors.
