The non-enhanced brain CT study shows no obvious brain fractures or intracranial hemorrhage.
Incidental findings:
elongated skull deformity due to sagittal suture synostosis (scaphocephaly)
prominent frontal diploic veins markings, mimicking fractures on 3D reconstruction images
Case Discussion
Scaphocephaly results from premature fusion of the sagittal suture, which limits the lateral growth of the skull, leading to abnormally elongated skull. It is the most common form of craniosynostosis.
