Case contributed by Dr Ahmed Abdrabou

Shoulder pain with limited flexion and history of previous shoulder dislocation reduced manually.

Patient Data

Age: 40
Gender: Male

Narrow coraco-humeral distance measuring 8.5 mm (Normal > 10 mm) which predispose to subcoracoid impingement and subscapularis tear.

There is partial subscapularis tear , subcoracoid bursitis and moderate joint effusion extending along the long head of biceps tendon sheath.

Os acromiale (normal variant) is noted.

Case Discussion

Impingement of subscapularis tendon between the coracoid process and humeral head. Trauma and narrow coraco-humeral distance are risk factors.
