Exam prep resources: Rapids | Vivas

Radiopaedia.org Rapids is a set of practice exams aimed for registrars preparing for the 2B component of the FRCR examination, which is the professional examination that is undertaken in the United Kingdom and several other countries. It is administrated by the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR). This set of exams will be useful other radiology registrars/residents wanting to test their skill at quickly assessing normal and abnormal films.

Examination

  • 30 plain radiographs
  • approximately 50% normal
  • candidate must report "normal" or the diagnosis if abnormal
  • 35 minutes
  • pass mark is 27/30

Technique

The key to this examination is not to overcall. To this end, we have created a select of playlists of 30 cases similar to those you will see in the examination:

  • get a timer and set 35 minutes
  • get a piece of paper or use an app to record your answers
  • click the link from one of the practice sets
  • hit GO on the timer
  • check your answers with the results given after the final case
  • make sure that this is completed within the allotted 35 minutes
