Hands are an amazing adaptation of nature and perhaps no species is better served by them thanhumans. Not only do they enable complex physical functions but they're also important social tools for communication. It is therefore no surprise thatcongenital hand deformities result in great physical and emotional debility.

Plain radiograph assessment of hand anomalies isparticularlyimportant for surgical planning, with multiple surgeries often required to optimize form and function. This playlist contains a variety of congenitalhand anomalies including localised gigantism, polydactyly, syndactyly and radial ray deficiency.

Hand anomalies are easily recognised clinically but imaging is needed to clarify the underlying bony structure which can vary greatly and guides surgical management.
