Bright rim sign in dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumours

The bright rim sign, also known as the hyperintense ring sign, has been described in dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumours (DNET) and is seen, as the name so aptly describes, as a rim of high signal around the DNET on FLAIR sequences.

The pathologic correlate of this sign is glioneural elements loosely packed at the margin of the tumour 1 .
