Completed editorial projects

Last revised by Henry Knipe on 13 Mar 2025

As a concept, editorial projects were launched at the end of 2015, although similar projects had been run sporadically before then. These projects are targeted to particular topics or types of content and aim to ensure that our content is kept clean and up to date. Naturally, these represent a mere fraction of all the edits undertaken by our contributors and editors daily (see the edits page).

  • Project Provenance Check: review of 3286 cases to ensure compliance with image licencing

  • Project Hemorrhagic Transformation: updating and creating intracerebral hemorrhage articles (started in 2022)

  • Operation Classification Review: approximately 20 editors reviewed all (1000+) articles that contained a "classification" to identify out-of-date or missing content; over 80% of our content was found to be current, and over 250 articles were updated

  • PVNS case update: updating terminology to the most recent WHO recommendations

  • The Final Race: follow-up to 2016's "No Race Race" by removing racial terminology from a few missed cases

  • Radiographic Indications Project: radiographer-led project adding an "Indication" section to radiographic projection articles

  • External Link Review Project: all articles containing external links were reviewed to ensure they are appropriate; style guide updated

  • Operation Annotation Aces: editors reviewed and added annotations to approximately 100 cases used in teaching material
