As a concept, editorial projects were launched at the end of 2015, although similar projects had been run sporadically before then. These projects are targeted to particular topics or types of content and aim to ensure that our content is kept clean and up to date. Naturally, these represent a mere fraction of all the edits undertaken by our contributors and editors daily (see the edits page).

Carcinoid Clean-Up: updating "carcinoid tumor" terminology in line with the WHO Classification of Tumors; over 100 articles reviewed
Project Provenance Check: review of 3286 cases to ensure compliance with image licencing
2024
Project Hemorrhagic Transformation: updating and creating intracerebral hemorrhage articles (started in 2022)
Operation Classification Review: approximately 20 editors reviewed all (1000+) articles that contained a "classification" to identify out-of-date or missing content; over 80% of our content was found to be current, and over 250 articles were updated
PVNS case update: updating terminology to the most recent WHO recommendations
The Final Race: follow-up to 2016's "No Race Race" by removing racial terminology from a few missed cases
Radiographic Indications Project: radiographer-led project adding an "Indication" section to radiographic projection articles
Recency Project: adding temporal context to articles where terms such as "recently" or "currently" are used; over 1350 articles reviewed with over 1000 articles edited
External Link Review Project: all articles containing external links were reviewed to ensure they are appropriate; style guide updated
Operation Annotation Aces: editors reviewed and added annotations to approximately 100 cases used in teaching material
Operation "A Moody Lint": editors reviewed and added modality to approximately 360 cases which did not have a modality listed
