The flexor hallucis brevis (FHB) muscle is one of the small muscles of the foot that is involved in flexion of the first toe. The hallux sesamoid bones are embedded within its tendon.

- origin: plantar surface of cuboid and lateral cuneiform
- insertion: medial and lateral sesamoid bones of first metatarsal
- action: flexes the 1st toe
- arterial supply: medial plantar artery
- innervation: medial plantar nerve
- antagonist: extensor hallucis longus
